Welcome to Kennedy Elementary School

Welcome to Kennedy Elementary School, home of the Knights, where our students’ success is paramount. Each year, we pride ourselves on being able to raise our expectations higher and we are delighted when we meet and succeed these expectations. Excellence is our goal. Striving to reach this goal is a joint effort on the part of the students, parents, teachers, community and administration.

Based on our STAR testing performance, we are continuing to focus our efforts on reading comprehension and writing strategies. Our goal is for every child to read and write at or above grade level by the end of the 2013-2014 school year. We encourage all students to read nightly.

One of the most important components of a good school is the partnership between home and school, working together for the best interest of children. The close partnership is one of the exceptional strengths of Kennedy Elementary School. We welcome parents to partner with the school in all kinds of ways. We extend a warm and open invitation for volunteers in the classrooms, our library, or on the playground during recess and lunch. The children and staff love to see volunteers helping out at our school. We are happy to be preparing our students to compete in a global community. We believe that children must be prepared to thrive in a global society and enthusiastically work towards this goal.
